Home is more than a place we return to. It is also something we carry with us.
This summer, PREUS, the National Museum of Photography, presents the exhibition Home. Perspectives, inviting visitors to reflect on what home can mean. For millions of Ukrainians, the word home has taken on a new and deeper meaning in recent years. That is why, on 20 September, we invite you to join us in marking Ukrainian Independence Day – a day that brings people together around freedom, memories, shared values, and culture.
For PREUS, this is an opportunity to create a space where people, cultures, and stories can meet. A place where photography reminds us of the power of memory, and where community can help foster greater understanding across different experiences and backgrounds.
During the day, you can experience:
- An engaging programme for children
- An atmospheric photo wall
- Ukrainian food and flavours
- Music, good conversations, and a warm atmosphere
We welcome Ukrainians, Norwegians, and anyone curious about Ukraine today to spend the day with us – in a space shaped by openness, dialogue, and community.
Bring your family, and invite your friends, neighbours, and colleagues.
Welcome to the celebration of Ukrainian Independence Day.
Take a selfie at the photo wall, enjoy lunch, and sing along to Ukrainian songs – just as Ukrainians do!
